Kimono Quilt

As promised some long awaited photos of the finished kimono quilt. But first a few details about the quilt. Pattern: Betty Blais “Kimonos”

Each individual kimono block was paper pieced. You can see my previous post here if you're curious about each individual block. I was able to scan the pattern and then print it out again on craft tracing paper which made tearing away quite easy. Most of my fabrics where asian prints from Robert Kaufman or Hoffman. The finished quilt was machine quilted on my mom's machine, nothing special. The border was quilted in a zig-zagging pattern that fit the portions of the quilt, the interior was quilted in the ditch so as not to distract from the kimonos themselves.

Photos!

A quick photo shoot before entering it in the South Carolina State Fair. It won 2nd place in the "Wall Hanging" division. Yay! :)

Its current home, hung above our bed with a simple curtain rod I had leftover from our lest move. And some quilting detail shots below.
